July 2026 carried nine ACCC recalls that touch babies and toddlers — and three of them come down to the same hazard. A button or coin battery a child could reach shows up in the Glow Crown Headbands, the 8.5” LCD writing tablet, and the 12” LCD writing tablet: three separate recalls in 31 days, three different product categories, one recurring fault. A fourth recall on the list, the Nuby Foldable Bathtub, is worth reading alongside those three for the opposite reason — nothing in the bathtub itself failed. It’s a useful pair for understanding what a recall actually flags.
Three recalls, one hazard: button batteries
- Glow Crown Headbands with LED battery pack (Fizz Kidz Australia, recalled 31 July 2026) — the ACCC notice says the battery isn’t secured, and children could access the button/coin battery.
- 8.5” LCD writing tablet (recalled 6 July 2026) — the button battery is accessible to children.
- 12” LCD writing tablet (recalled 3 July 2026) — the same fault, in a different-sized tablet.
Why it keeps recurring: button and coin cells are small enough to swallow, and a battery compartment that isn’t properly secured turns whatever product it’s in — a headband, a stationery item, a toy — into the same hazard, regardless of what the product is for. The Glow Crown notice states the risk plainly: children are at risk of choking, serious injury or death if they swallow or place button or coin batteries inside their bodies. That’s the fault behind all three of these recalls, not three unrelated ones.
The recall where nothing broke: Nuby Foldable Bathtub
Not every recall means a product failed. The Nuby Foldable Bathtub for babies and infants (sold through ALDI, recalled 10 July 2026) is a compliance recall — the defect named in the notice is that permanent warning labels are missing, and consumers may not be aware of important safety information about the use of the product.
That’s the entire fault. There’s no report of the bathtub cracking or failing to hold water. The label is meant to be a standing reminder that a baby should never be left unattended in water, and the notice is explicit about what that reminder is guarding against: a risk of serious injury or death from drowning if the product is not used as intended. Without the label, the reminder simply isn’t there at the moment it matters.
That’s the distinction worth carrying forward: the three battery recalls above are “the product itself can hurt a child.” The bathtub recall is “the product didn’t carry the warning it’s required to carry.” Both are real recalls — they’re not the same kind of problem, and knowing the difference is what lets you read a recall notice for what it’s actually saying.

What to do if one of these is in your house
- Glow Crown Headbands — stop using it, remove the battery pack into a secure container without opening the casing, and return it to any Fizz Kidz studio or a battery/e-waste facility. Fizz Kidz is offering a free replacement. Notice
- 8.5” and 12” LCD writing tablets — the same button-battery caution applies: keep it away from children, and check each notice for the supplier’s specific return process. 8.5” notice · 12” notice
- Nuby Foldable Bathtub — stop using it immediately and return it to any ALDI store for a full refund. Notice
- Think, Feel, Do Sensory Bear — stop using it, keep it away from children, and contact Curijo for a full refund. Notice
- Pokémon Pikachu Co-BOLT teapot, Aussie Clean Drain Cleaner 4pk, Toy Story 5 Collector Cup and Topper, and the 2026 $2 Uncirculated Coin – Tooth Fairy Kit — each notice carries the specific return or refund process for that product; the links in the table above go straight to them.
The takeaway
None of this means every headband or every writing tablet on the shelf is a problem — it means nine specific products were recalled for nine specific reasons, and three of them share a hazard worth recognising on sight: a battery compartment a child can open. The ACCC keeps a running, searchable list at productsafety.gov.au, and Peeka pulls from the same source.
